Nigerian Army Eliminates Notorious Terrorist Leader Halilu Buzu in Zamfara Raid
Nigerian Army troops have neutralized a notorious terrorist leader, Halilu Buzu, along with several of his fighters during a strategic operation in Mayanchi village, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The breakthrough was announced on Friday through the army’s official X handle, detailing the carefully coordinated offensive that took place on Thursday.
According to the statement, troops launched a powerful strike on Buzu and his gang at a notorious crossing point in Mayanchi.
The terrorists, led by Buzu, attempted to put up fierce resistance but were swiftly overpowered by the troops’ overwhelming firepower.
“On winning the fire fight, the troops recovered two Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) guns, three PKT guns, five AK-47 rifles, 479 rounds of PKT ammunition, and 366 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition,” the statement read.
Additional recovered items included 182 rounds of Machine Gun1 ammunition, an RPG bomb, 29 AK-47 magazines, 30 motorcycles, and several mobile phones.
The army also revealed that the terrorists’ camp was destroyed during the operation, with troops continuing to conduct further operations in the area.
The successful operation marks a significant victory in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in Zamfara and the wider region.
