Nigerian Army Rattling Criminal Elements in the North Central Region
In a significant stride towards bolstering security in the North Central region, the Nigerian Army has made substantial progress in “Exercise Enduring Peace III,” a targeted operation aimed at curbing criminal activities.
The operation, strategically scheduled for the last quarter of the year, has seen troops maintain an offensive posture, engaging in both kinetic and non-kinetic operations.
Among the achievements recorded are successful raids on criminal hideouts, patrols, and apprehension of suspects.

The operation has proven instrumental in quelling criminal elements and ensuring a safer environment for the residents of the North Central region.
Notable accomplishments under “Exercise Enduring Peace III” include the October 29 raid operation by troops of the Guards Brigade and other security agencies in Kuje, Federal Capital Territory.
This resulted in the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of stolen items, including a motorcycle, bundles of cable wires, illicit drugs, and substances suspected to be cannabis.
Additionally, on November 1, troops from the 3 Division Nigerian Army conducted a raid operation in Plateau State, leading to a firefight with criminals, the neutralization of one perpetrator, and the successful rescue of six kidnap victims.
Further highlighting the operation’s success, troops dismantled a suspected weapon fabrication factory in Vom village, Jos South LGA of Plateau State, on November 1, arresting two suspects and recovering six fabricated AK 47 Rifles, one fabricated Pistol, and 11 Rifles. On November 13, the 6 Brigade successfully cleared bandit enclaves in Ardo-Kola LGA of Taraba State, neutralizing six bandits and recovering firearms and ammunition.
These accomplishments underline the Nigerian Army’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the North Central region through “Exercise Enduring Peace III.” The COAS commended the troops for their achievements and urged them to sustain their efforts to decisively curb criminal activities across the region.
The Nigerian Army also appealed to law-abiding citizens to actively participate by providing useful and actionable information to security agencies, fostering a collaborative approach to ensuring enduring peace in the North Central region.
