The Nigerian Army has achieved significant breakthroughs in counter-insurgency and anti-crime operations across the country over the past 24 hours, rescuing kidnapped victims, disrupting terror activities, and uncovering stolen crude oil operations.

According to senior military sources at Army Headquarters, troops maintained aggressive operational tempo, responding swiftly to threats in multiple regions.

In the North-West, soldiers under Operation FANSAN YAMMA confronted terrorists in Baigasuwa community, Maradun LGA, Zamfara. The attackers withdrew, and residents were rescued, though four civilians sustained injuries from gunfire.

In Kebbi State, terrorists attacked a Nigeria Immigration Service checkpoint in Bagudo, killing three personnel and burning vehicles. Troops later rescued five persons, including a baby, abandoned by the attackers upon encountering military reinforcements along the Unashi–Doka axis.

The North-Central region also saw successes. Troops of Operation MESA rescued four kidnapped victims during a shootout with insurgents at Konan Leda, Lokoja, with eleven others managing to escape in the aftermath. Two motorcycles and a radio communication device were recovered. Another victim was freed in Kwali Area Council, FCT.

In the South-South, the fight against oil theft recorded major gains under Operation Delta Safe. Troops in Eleme, Rivers State, recovered 350 sacks of stolen crude oil (approx. 10,500 litres), while a patrol in Bonny seized oil theft equipment, including jerrycans, hoses, and a Yamaha boat engine, abandoned by fleeing suspects.

Operations in the North-East, under Operation HADIN KAI and the ongoing Desert Sanity IV campaign, continued clearance and security patrols with no major incidents reported.

Military sources reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to maintaining security, safeguarding lives and property, and disrupting criminal and insurgent networks across Nigeria.
