Nigerian Army troops have achieved a significant breakthrough in the fight against terrorism and insurgency by dismantling a major firearms and drone manufacturing hub linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), located in Onicha Ulona, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The operation, guided by precise intelligence, exposed the facility’s role in perpetrating criminal activities and instilling terror in nearby communities. Despite encountering fierce resistance, the army personnel successfully subdued the armed individuals in a robust engagement, neutralizing two and seizing a substantial arsenal of weapons.

The cache of items seized includes an array of IPOB/ESN firearms, ammunition, components for Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and materials from a drone production site. The troops also secured a variety of weapons, unfinished drones, IED-making materials, a fully stocked workshop, and multiple power generators. Six suspects, comprising four males and two females, were apprehended during the raid.

The Nigerian Army reaffirms its unwavering dedication to eradicating networks of terrorists and insurgents, thereby addressing the security challenges facing the nation.

“We call on the public to maintain their support for the military and other security agencies as we strive to reestablish peace and stability across the country,” said, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu Director, Army Public Relations.
