According to a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the unveiling of these initiatives by the COAS, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, aims to enhance living conditions and address the pressing needs of residents.
The statement added that the projects, inaugurated alongside commanders and senior officers of the NA, were carefully selected to provide much-needed succour to communities impacted by insurgency.
Among the commissioned projects were a newly renovated single-block classroom at Zajiri Junior Secondary School in Baga Road, Maiduguri; a solar-powered industrial borehole at Jiddari Polo Community; renovated blocks of classrooms at Lawan Mustapha School in Konduga community; and a newly upgraded and equipped Maternity/Child Healthcare Centre in Gubio Community.
Expressing the purpose behind the initiatives, Lagbaja stated that the projects symbolise the NA’s commitment to giving back to society in commemoration of the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference 2023. Describing them as Quick Impact projects, he emphasised that they serve as tokens of encouragement and support for the beneficiary communities. Gen.
