Nigerian-born aerospace engineer Dr. Wendy A. Okolo has continued to earn global recognition for her groundbreaking achievements in aerospace engineering, inspiring young Africans and aspiring scientists around the world.
At the age of 26, Dr. Okolo made history by becoming the first Black woman to earn a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, United States—a milestone that marked a significant achievement in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Following her academic success, she joined the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), where she serves as an aerospace engineering researcher.
