Bolaji’s remarkable journey began with her podium finish at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, where she showcased her ability to compete among the world’s elite. She carried this momentum into January, successfully defending her title at the Egypt International Para-Badminton tournament, and continued her strong form at the World Para-Badminton Championships in Bahrain.

On February 14, Bolaji earned a silver medal after a hard-fought final against Japan’s Shino Kawai. While the match ended 2–0, the ranking points she secured were enough to surpass the previous world leader and claim the global No. 1 spot.

Her rise has been powered by consistency, meticulous preparation, and strong institutional support, including backing from the Badminton Federation of Nigeria and partners committed to her success.

This milestone is not just a personal triumph for Bolaji — it is a historic moment for African sport. For the first time, an African woman sits at the pinnacle of global para-badminton, a feat she has earned through determination, skill, and unwavering dedication.
