The Dr David Olofu Campaign Council has appointed Bashir Hassan as Director of Election Management and Situation Room as part of a major restructuring of its campaign machinery ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Hassan’s appointment puts him at the heart of the campaign council’s electoral coordination efforts, with responsibility for election management and the operation of the campaign’s Situation Room as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
The appointment was contained in a fresh list of directors and deputy directors approved by the campaign council to strengthen its organisational structure and improve its preparedness for the forthcoming elections.
Also appointed was Group Captain Steve Adah as Director of Security and Intelligence, while Chief Donald Agida was named Director of Training.
Pastor Ali Ujor and Honourable Igoche Gabriel were appointed Deputy Directors of Election Management and Situation Room, where they will work alongside Hassan.
In another major change, Honourable Dan Atayi was redeployed from the New Media Directorate to head the Door2Door Directorate as Director, while Lawrence Okoh was appointed the new Director of New Media.
Chief Oga Ekwu was named Director of Legal, with Barrister Jacob Ogwuche appointed his deputy. Honourable Ajumi Igomu emerged as Deputy Director, Door2Door, while Johnson Adeh was appointed Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence.
The latest appointments build on an earlier list announced by the Chairman of the Campaign Council, Sir John Ngbede, and the Director-General, Chief Chris Adaba Abah.
Those earlier appointed include Ala’nana Daniel as Director of Research, Documentation and Strategy; Honourable Oklo Eineje Oklo as Director of Mobilisation; Adegahi Abuh Elijah as Director of Youth Mobilisation; Honourable Evelyn Okwe as Director of Women Mobilisation; Rexino Ejembi Ogwuche as Director of Publicity; and James Ibechi as Director of Media.
Others are Kelly Agaba, Director of Support Groups; Owoicho Oyi, Director of Transport and Logistics; alongside several deputy directors across the mobilisation, youth, women, research, media, legal, training and Door2Door directorates.
The council also appointed Ene Musa Ochi and Godwin Owulo as Special Assistants to the Chairman, with Ochi assigned to Women and Owulo to Elders.
According to the council, all the appointments take immediate effect, while the appointees are scheduled to be inaugurated on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
