Olu of Warri Visits Former Ghanaian President Ahead of Elevate Africa Convening 2026
His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, has paid a courtesy visit to former Ghanaian President John Agyekum Kufuor at his residence in Accra, Ghana, ahead of the Elevate Africa Convening 2026.
The visit was part of activities leading up to the convening, which brings together African leaders and stakeholders to discuss the continent’s future.
During the meeting, the Olu of Warri formally presented the theme of this year’s convening, “Africa: Defining Her Future,” which highlights the importance of African leadership, strategic thinking and collective action in shaping the continent’s development.
The two leaders also exchanged views on Africa’s prospects, the challenges facing the continent and the need for visionary leadership and sustained collaboration to drive development.
The Elevate Africa Convening 2026 is expected to bring together policymakers, government officials, leaders and other stakeholders to discuss ideas and strategies for a more prosperous and self-determined Africa.
The event is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 29, in Accra, Ghana.
