Olukoyede Urges Students to Shun Fraud, Embrace Integrity During Study Tour to EFCC Academy

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has charged students across the country to reject fraudulent practices and remain worthy ambassadors of their families, schools and communities.

He gave the advice on February 2026, when the management and students of ACAD System International School, Jikwoyi, Abuja, visited the EFCC Academy in Karu, Abuja, on a study tour.

Olukoyede, who was represented by Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE I Chidimma Amanambu, urged the students to maintain good conduct at all times. He emphasized that integrity built at a young age lays a strong foundation for a corruption-free society.

According to him, the visit aligns with the Commission’s commitment to preventive education and youth engagement, which remain key strategies in the fight against corruption, economic and financial crimes.

He reiterated that the EFCC is not only focused on enforcement but also on proactive engagement with young Nigerians. Describing the students as future leaders, he encouraged them to make responsible decisions, avoid fraudulent activities and stand as ambassadors of honesty in their respective communities.

In his presentation, Deputy Commandant of the EFCC Academy, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE I Aliyu Yunisa, outlined the statutory functions of the Commission. He explained that the EFCC’s mandate includes investigation, prevention and prosecution of economic and financial crimes, as well as collaboration with local and international partners in tackling corruption.

Also speaking, Deputy Superintendent of the EFCC, DSE Angel O. Israel, educated the students on the consequences of engaging in economic and financial crimes. He urged them to uphold integrity, accountability and patriotism, stressing that national development thrives where citizens are committed to ethical conduct and responsible leadership.

The event featured an interactive session, guided tours of selected facilities within the Academy and a question-and-answer segment, where the students displayed keen interest in the operations of the Commission.
