A video involving Nollywood star Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has sparked reactions online after she appeared to briefly decline engagement with a young presenter during a live segment at the 46th Miss Nigeria patrons and board dinner in Lagos.

The incident occurred on Sunday night, where the veteran actress was among top dignitaries in attendance at the high-profile event.
In the circulating clip, the presenter, who appeared inexperienced, approached the actress during a live broadcast and said, “Alright, welcome to 2026 Miss Nigeria dinner. I am currently live with…?”
Seemingly taken aback by the approach, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde paused before questioning the presenter’s readiness.
“You are here with who? I should tell you my name? You are not ready,” she responded.
The presenter quickly clarified that he was aware of her identity and only intended to properly introduce her to viewers.
“I know you, Omotola Jalade, I just want fans to know who I am with,” he said.
However, the actress replied, “Why should I let fans know me? I am tired,” before attempting to walk away from the interaction. The presenter was seen pleading as the exchange reportedly continued briefly.
The video has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with some viewers criticizing the presenter’s approach, while others debated the actress’s response.
The event comes shortly after Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde marked her 30th wedding anniversary with her husband, Matthew Ekeinde.
