Operation DELTA SAFE Troops Bust Criminal Gang, Recover Multiple Firearms in Delta State
Troops of 63 Brigade/Sector 1, Joint Task Force, South-South, Operation DELTA SAFE, have successfully dismantled a criminal gang in Oshimilli North Local Government Area of Delta State, recovering numerous firearms and ammunition.

The operation led to the arrest of two suspected criminals linked to a notorious cult group in the area. The arrests followed credible intelligence on the gang’s activities during a recent mission around Ibusa.
During the operation, troops recovered two pump-action rifles from the suspects, along with an additional three rifles reportedly held by local vigilantes. The suspects and all recovered weapons have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
A follow-up operation combed surrounding areas, resulting in the recovery of eight more pump-action rifles in Umuisiagba and the detention of thirteen additional suspects, including Nwaokonta Elvis, Obi Victor Woke, Uba Elijah, Nonso Ibiora, Dumbili Ezefili, Ndefu Ifeanyi, Ozemene Richard, Broderick Patrick, Nwaokonta Afamefile, Kelvin Ejiani, Victor Ogochukwu, Ogadi Kelvin Ikechukwu, and Ndibuisi Obiogonna, a native doctor.
Brigadier General MA Shonibare, Commander of 63 Brigade, commended the troops for their vigilance and urged continued efforts to clamp down on criminal networks in the region. He reassured residents of Delta State that the Brigade remains committed to safeguarding lives and property.
