Operation FANSAN YAMMA: Troops Foil Bandit Attack, Recover Rustled Cattle in Sokoto
Troops of 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled an attack by armed bandits and recovered cattle believed to have been rustled in Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The troops responded to the incident and engaged the bandits, forcing them to flee the area and abandon some of the cattle reportedly rustled from communities within the locality.
The recovered livestock were secured by the troops for identification and verification ahead of their possible return to the legitimate owners.
Residents of Kebbe commended the troops for their swift response and sustained presence in the area, saying the intervention helped prevent further attacks and protect the livelihoods of farmers and livestock owners.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt the activities of bandits and other criminal elements across the North-West and enhance the safety of communities and their economic activities.
