The residents of Ijaregbe town in Obokun Local Government area of Osun State, have appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke of the state to extend the dividends of democracy to the ancient community as they lack secondary school and hospital.

The revered traditional ruler, the Olomu of Ijaregbe Oke-Omu, Oba Edward Adedayo Adetimo (JP), Ajiyo Bi Elu Okanle Bi Ogbo II, made this appeal in his Ultra Modern Palace on Wednesday while speaking with the Impact Digital Television, IDTV, on the occasions of his 70th birthday anniversary as well as 40th years on the throne holding on Saturday the 23rd of May, 2026 in the town.

Oba Adetimo lamented that, the ancient community cannot boast of a single Secondary Schools for their children while there is no Primary Health Center for the use of his people when there is need for it.

“We are just hearing that the state government is doing this and that to some communities, but it is not like that in Ijaregbe Oke-Omu town. We can only boast of a Primary School but no Secondary School for our children.

“We have sufficient lands to release to the government for them to give us a secondary school as well as primary health center.

“I am strongly appealing to our amiable Governor Ademola Adeleke to please come to our aid in this community as we larks social amenities, no hospital for my people in order to avert any epidemic or even first aid as we can only rely on a maternity center.

“We need to go to neighbouring towns whenever we needs to go to hospital while our children also attend secondary school there which is not suppose to be.

“We can see the developmental programmes of Governor Adeleke for the welfare and betterment of the citizens of the state but Mr Governor should extend some of these people oriented programmes to us here in our town which is long overdue”, the Olomu of Ijaregbe Oke-Omu lamented.

Oba Adetimo while speaking on his birthday and coronation ceremony coming up on Saturday, he said all is now set for the two occasions while appreciating his traditional Chiefs as well as sons and daughters of the town for their unalloyed support to him since he assumed the throne of his father 40th years back.

People from all walks of life are expected to attend the ceremony, the monarch said.
