Osun EHOAN flags off zonal environmental sanitation exercise in Ile-Ife/Modakeke

Osun State Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi has reiterated the readiness of the state Government to ensure a clean and safe environment in the nooks and crannies of the state.
Prince Adewusi stated this during the flag-off of a zonal environmental sanitation exercise organized by the Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN), Osun State Chapter tagged “Clean up Ile-Ife and Modakeke, in conjunction with Osun State Waste Management Agency, OWMA, held at Mayfair roundabout, Ile – Ife, Osún State.
Prince Adewusi who was represented by the state Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Mayowa Adejorin explained that sanitation is one of the five points agenda of Governor Ademola Adeleke which is being encouraged by his administration.
Prince Adewusi who appreciated environmental health officers in the state for enforcing cleanliness said that the present administration has set every machinery in motion to commence the weekly environmental sanitation.
The Deputy Governor also used the occasion to inform the residents of Ile-Ife that very soon the state government will kick-start the monthly environmental sanitation.
Speaking during the exercise where refuse was packed in Ile-Ife and Modakeke towns, the state President Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria, EHOAN, Sanitarian Olufemi Ola noted that the lofty decision of Governor Ademola Adeleke to make Osun one of the cleanest in the country deserve support, hence environmental sanitation in Ile-ife, the country home of the state Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi and other towns in the state.
In their separate reaction, the South West President of the association, Sanitarian Tope Akinwumi, the General Manager Osun Waste Management Agency, Sanitarian Fatai Oyewole, Chairman DWES Forum, Sanitarian Idowu Kolawole and
Deputy Chairman DWES, Alhaji Ayobami Olaoye implored residents of the state to imbibe the spirit of cleanliness and avoid indiscriminate dumping of refuse by roadside, as the government has provided an accredited waste manager.
