Osun Varsity clears air on alleged tuition fee increment
By Richard Akintade, Osogbo
The attention of the Management of Osun State University has been drawn to a publication made by Osun Defender, alleging an increase in tuition fees for the upcoming academic session.
The University categorically denies this misleading information and aims to set the record straight.
In a statement released by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji and made available to our correspondent, it was clarified that contrary to the published report, Osun State University has not increased its tuition fees.
“The recent adjustments in fees pertain solely to ancillary charges, not tuition fees,” stated Adesoji.
The University reaffirms the earlier statement made by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Clement Adebooye, confirming that there would be no increment in tuition fees due to prevailing economic challenges.

“The reported increment purportedly discovered on the institution’s website does not relate to tuition and is described accordingly. Osun Defender’s interpretation of the breakdown of the University fees is inaccurate and misleading. We urge the public to disregard such misinformation and seek accurate details directly from official University channels.”
Furthermore, the University’s legal team has been briefed regarding the defamatory nature of Osun Defender’s publication. The University expects a public retraction and an apology from Osun Defender for disseminating false information.
Failure to comply with this request will result in necessary legal actions to protect the University’s integrity and uphold the truth.
“Osun State University remains committed to providing quality education while ensuring transparency and accuracy in its communication with the public,” added Adesoji.
