Otan-Ile Day 2023 – Monarch urges residents to contribute to community development

A traditional ruler in Osun State, the Owa Afole of Otan-Ile in Obokun Local Government Area, Oba Sunday Olatokun Fagberade 1, has called on the people to troop out and contribute their quotas to the development of the ancient community.

While addressing the Planning Committee towards the 2023 Otan-Ile Day celebration in his palace on Wednesday, the traditional ruler said, “I want all our sons and daughters from far and near to join me on Saturday in putting hands together for the upliftment of our dear community.

“Nobody can do it for us if at all people will join us, we have to kick the ball rolling first as they say, charity begins at home”.

The event, which is the 13th edition, will take place on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Palace Square, Otan Ile, Obokun Local Government area of Osun state.

Osun state governor’s wife, Erelu Ngozi Adeleke is expected to be the mother of the day.

According to the Co-Chairmen of the planning committee,  Prof Jesse Otegbayo (CMD UCH) and Barrister Niyi Okin, the annual celebration will kick start fully on Friday, November 24, 2023, with medical outreach for the residents of the town while kick and eat football competition including series of indoor games will hold same day.

All-Star night show where upcoming artists would have the opportunity to showcase their talents will follow suit on the same Friday night followed by the Miss Afole Beauty Pageant same day.

The committee added that the ground finale of the celebration which is billed to be held on Saturday will have Dr Oluyemisi Adetunji as the chairperson for the occasion while other prominent dignitaries from all walks of life will be at the ancient town for the occasion.
