Justice Aiki made the request during a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division NA, Major General Bamidele Alabi, on February 6, 2024, at the Division’s Headquarters in Ibadan.
She informed the GOC that Governor Seyi Makinde has provided her team with the necessary resources to carry out their duties effectively. However, she emphasised the need for the NA’s support to further strengthen the task force and enable it to better achieve its mandate, in line with the state’s goals and expectations.
In response, Major General Alabi congratulated and thanked Justice Aiki for her well-deserved appointment and willingness to take on the responsibility. He urged the task force Chairperson and her team to take the lead in carrying out their statutory responsibilities, assuring them of the Division’s readiness to provide the necessary support.
The GOC commended Justice Aiki and her team for their contributions to peace and national security and assured them that the military component of OPERATION BURST would always be available to assist them in protecting their facilities and critical infrastructure when necessary.
The visit underscores the collaborative efforts between the Oyo State Government and the Nigerian Army in addressing the issue of land grabbing and promoting peace and security in the state.
