Pantami Unveils 241-Project Scorecard, Calls for Performance-Based Leadership

By Ahmad Auwal  Umar, Gombe

Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, has released a detailed report highlighting 241 projects he says were executed during his time in public office, presenting the document as an open record of his achievements.

The compendium captures interventions carried out between 2016 and 2023, spanning his tenure as Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and later as minister.

Speaking on the report, Pantami described it as more than a compilation of projects, saying it is intended to provide a clear and verifiable account of his contributions across key sectors, including digital innovation, education, governance and economic development.

He explained that the initiative is aimed at giving Nigerians—particularly the people of Gombe State—the opportunity to independently assess his performance based on documented evidence.

According to him, the publication reflects a commitment to transparency and accountability, stressing that leadership should be evaluated through measurable results rather than promises or political narratives.

Pantami noted that many of the projects outlined in the report were designed to expand access to technology, strengthen public institutions and drive socio-economic growth.

He further emphasised the need for a shift towards results-oriented governance, where public office holders are judged by the tangible impact of their policies and programmes.

The former minister maintained that credible leadership must be rooted in verifiable achievements, adding that the report offers a useful benchmark for citizens to make informed decisions as discussions around future leadership continue.
