Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, has outlined an ambitious vision to transform education and youth development in Gombe State through global best practices and advanced digital skills training.

Pantami said that if given the opportunity to lead the state, he would pursue comprehensive education reforms inspired by internationally recognised systems, with a strong emphasis on practical learning, innovation and technology-driven skills.

According to him, the initiative would combine academic education with specialised training in emerging technologies to equip young people with the competencies required to compete in the global digital economy.

He explained that university graduates, particularly unemployed youths, would have access to one- or two-year professional training programmes in high-demand fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Microsoft Technologies, Blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Pantami noted that acquiring these digital skills would enable young people to secure remote jobs and other global employment opportunities, creating sustainable sources of income and improving their economic prospects.

He emphasised that investing in human capital through quality education, innovation and modern technology training should remain a top priority for government, describing it as a critical pathway to economic growth, job creation and reduced unemployment.

The former minister also expressed his hope for the continued peace, progress and sustainable development of Gombe State, stressing that empowering the youth with world-class education and digital expertise is key to building a prosperous future.
