Police Recruitment Applicants Scheduled for Medical Screening Starting April 16th
In light of the ongoing Muslim Ramadan fast and the Christian lenten period, the date for the medical screening and examination for candidates applying for Police recruitment into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force has been rescheduled. The screening will now commence on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, allowing candidates to conclude their religious obligations.
The screening process is expected to last for two weeks, marking the successful conclusion of the recruitment exercise. Specialist applicants who underwent physical and credentials screening but did not participate in the JAMB-conducted Computer-Based Tests will also undergo practical tests and medical screening during this period.
The screening exercises will take place in the 17 Zonal Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, as well as in Kaduna, Yobe, and Zamfara states, which have been given special consideration due to security challenges. Candidates from these states are advised to undergo screening and practical tests in their states of origin. Police Colleges located in states hosting the Zonal Command Headquarters will provide venues for the exercises.
“Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the Police Recruitment Board with detailed information on the location and timing of their screening sessions. Successful candidates from the medical screening will proceed to Police Colleges for mandatory training.”
Dr. Solomon Arase CFR, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and National Coordinator of the Recruitment Exercise, expressed satisfaction that the exercise is nearing its conclusion, with more recruits poised to join the effort to enhance security.
Dr. Arase emphasised the rigorous selection process, aimed at identifying high-caliber individuals who will contribute to Nigeria’s security architecture. He praised the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), led by Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, for their role in conducting the Computer-Based Tests, underscoring JAMB’s reputation for excellence and reliability in such examinations.
