Power Minister Meets Agency Heads to Deepen Collaboration, Accelerate Electricity Sector Reforms
The Minister of Power, Mr. Joseph Tegbe, has met with heads of agencies under the Ministry of Power as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and accelerate ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s electricity sector.
During the engagement, Tegbe stressed that addressing the challenges confronting the nation’s power industry requires collective action, innovation, and accountability from all institutions operating under the ministry.
He noted that stronger coordination among agencies would play a vital role in advancing key sector reforms aimed at improving electricity supply and enhancing service delivery across the country.
According to the minister, institutional collaboration is essential to expanding access to electricity, improving grid reliability, and attracting the investments needed to boost power generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure.
Tegbe reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to delivering stable, reliable, and affordable electricity to Nigerians, describing the power sector as a critical driver of economic growth, industrial development, job creation, and improved living standards.
The meeting forms part of the minister’s ongoing consultations with stakeholders following his appointment, as the government seeks to address longstanding challenges in the electricity industry and create a more efficient and sustainable power sector.
