PTDF Hosts DAAD Delegation to Strengthen Scholar Development, Entrepreneurship Initiatives

The Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) today received a delegation from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at the PTDF Towers, Abuja, reinforcing ongoing collaboration between the two organizations. The delegation was led by Mrs. Gudrun Chazotte, Head of Section (Africa), alongside Jazmin Schmidt, Desk Officer for PTDF/DAAD Collaboration, and Prof. Ayodele Ajayi.

During the meeting, Prof. Ajayi lauded the Executive Secretary’s continued support for the PTDF–DAAD partnership, noting its consistent delivery of impactful outcomes for scholars. He also expressed gratitude for DAAD’s strategic engagement and long-term commitment to capacity building.

Mrs. Chazotte described the discussions as productive and forward-looking, highlighting the importance of linking PTDF scholars’ competencies to national development priorities. She outlined plans to showcase scholars’ achievements through an education and job fair, aimed at increasing visibility and connecting graduates with potential employers.

Additionally, DAAD proposed integrating entrepreneurship training into PTDF-funded postgraduate programmes to equip scholars with practical skills, expand professional networks, and enhance opportunities both within and beyond academia.

The meeting underscores PTDF and DAAD’s shared commitment to developing highly skilled, market-ready professionals capable of driving growth and innovation in Nigeria’s petroleum and energy sectors.
