PTDF, NEITI Strengthen Partnership on Transparency, Energy Sector Development
The Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, Prof. Shua’ibu Shehu Aliyu, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) in promoting transparency, accountability, and sustainable development within Nigeria’s extractive sector.
Prof. Aliyu made the commitment while receiving a delegation from NEITI, led by its Executive Secretary, Musa Sarkin Adar, at the PTDF Towers in Abuja.
The visit was aimed at congratulating Prof. Aliyu on his recent appointment and reinforcing the longstanding partnership between both institutions in advancing reforms and transparency within Nigeria’s oil, gas, and mining industries.
Speaking during the meeting, Sarkin Adar commended PTDF for its contributions to human capacity development in the energy sector and appealed for the Fund’s support in the forthcoming Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative validation exercise.
He noted that NEITI has continued to play a critical role in identifying leakages and promoting accountability across the industry, adding that its transparency framework has improved Nigeria’s investment climate and increased investor confidence in upstream licensing and infrastructure projects.
In his remarks, Prof. Aliyu appreciated the visit and stressed the importance of stronger synergy among government institutions.
“Every institution must work towards achieving one common goal, one purpose, and one agenda for the Nigerian state,” he said.
He further assured the delegation of PTDF’s readiness to deepen collaboration with NEITI while remaining committed to its mandate of developing human capacity for Nigeria’s energy sector.
