Renewed Hope for Families of Fallen Heroes
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander in Chief (C-in-C) of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing continuous support for the families of fallen heroes. The President made this affirmation during the opening ceremony of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Annual Conference 2023, held at Command Guest House, Maiduguri, Borno State.

In his address, President Tinubu acknowledged the heroic efforts of the Armed Forces in combatting insurgency, terrorism, and other criminal activities threatening peace and stability in Nigeria. He expressed gratitude for the troops’ apolitical conduct during recent elections and emphasised the pivotal role of the Nigerian Army (NA) in restoring peace across the country.
The President assured that his administration would continue to cater to the families of deceased personnel who paid the supreme price in defence of Nigeria. He pledged ongoing support through welfare schemes and educational scholarship programmes, aiming to alleviate the burdens faced by these families.
The commitment to supporting the families of fallen heroes aligns with President Tinubu’s proactive approach to tackling security concerns. His promise underscores the administration’s determination to create a more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria while recognising the sacrifices made by those who defended the nation.
