The management of the Dalhatu Araf Specialists Hospital (DASH), said services at the hospital are still available, in spite of the ongoing strike by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

According to the CMD, even though the strike embarked by residents doctors across the country, has affected services at the hospital, the management of DASH, is putting up measures towards ensuring that patients continue to receive desired attention.

“As you are aware, resident doctors constitute the majority of the doctors in hospitals, so definitely it has not been easy,” he stated

He however assured that, with other health workers and consultants at hand, the management of the hospital has been doing its best to ensure services did not stop at the facility.

Dr Hassan noted that, even though there is a reduction of patients being attended to, mostly as a result of the reduction in the number of available doctors, DASH is able to retain services like surgery, even admission of patients, as well as emergency services.

The CMD expressed hope that, with ongoing meetings at the national level, the impasse involving the resident doctors, will soon be resolved amicably.

“Right now we are doing the best we can to retain services. Emergency services are still ongoing and we will still continue the best that we are doing. Once the strike is called off, full services will be restored,” the CMD said.
