Six herders killed, seven missing in Bauchi group attack, MACBAN alleges
A Bauchi-based group, ‘Yan Babeli’ has allegedly killed six herders, with seven others declared missing in Mongi and Langai communities of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Malam Nura Abdullahi, made the allegation on Monday.
According to him, the group stormed the communities on 22nd July, under the guise of searching for criminals, apprehended some Fulanis and took them to the bush where they were killed.

He explained that six of the corpses were recovered of the 13 arrested, saying that the remaining ones were nowhere to be found.
The State chairman of MACBAN said, “One of those killed was a graduate. There is also a 65-year-old man who was also killed.
“This is unacceptable. It is a dastardly act of the highest order. It is a jungle justice and we will not tolerate it. If they accused them of kidnapping, they should have been taken to the court after their arrest. If they are found guilty of the offence, they should be sentenced.”
He explained that after they killed them, they stole their property, money and took their motorcycles.
He called on the security agencies to take action on the matter, stressing that he had informed the GOC 3 Division about the issue.
When contacted, the police spokesman in Bauchi, Ahmed Wakili, explained that the Plateau State Command had the jurisdiction to talk about the matter.
However, DSP Alabo Alfred, the spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, stated that he had not received any news on the incident, but promised to get back when briefed.
