A new study by Cotton USA reveals that couples who sleep naked may enjoy higher relationship satisfaction compared to those who wear pajamas or nightgowns. Surveying over 1,000 participants, researchers found that 57% of naked sleepers described themselves as happy in their partnerships—a notable increase over those who slept clothed.

Experts explain that the benefits go beyond comfort. Skin-to-skin contact during sleep triggers the release of oxytocin, often called the “love hormone,” which fosters trust, security, and emotional connection while reducing stress levels by lowering cortisol. This hormonal boost helps couples navigate daily challenges more smoothly and strengthens long-term emotional bonds.

Sleeping naked also promotes body positivity and vulnerability, enhancing both emotional and physical intimacy. In addition, it supports better sleep quality by keeping the body cool, allowing for deeper and more restorative sleep cycles.

According to researchers, this simple habit may offer couples a quiet but powerful way to nurture their bond, proving that intimacy isn’t just about shared time awake—it’s also about the closeness that continues through the night.
