“Stay Humble, Stay Hungry: CDS General Musa Charges Special Forces Graduates
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has urged the latest graduates of the special operation forces to remain humble and maintain a hunger for success as they step into their roles.
Speaking at the Headquarters National Mission Force in Bida, Niger State, General Musa addressed the Batch 7 graduates during their badging ceremony.
In his remarks, the CDS emphasized the importance of adhering to the values and principles instilled in them throughout their rigorous training.
According to General Musa, their character will be key in overcoming future challenges.
He advised the graduates to stay neutral in the line of duty and avoid taking sides, as professionalism and impartiality are crucial for success.
Praising the resilience displayed by the graduates, General Musa commended the trainers for molding the soldiers into formidable warriors.
He reminded the special forces that their skills extend beyond combat, stressing the need for passion, empathy, and understanding toward the people they are sworn to protect.
“Your success is not just in battle, but in the way you serve the people,” he added.
General Musa also conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appreciation for the troops’ dedication, particularly noting their excellent performance in the recently concluded Warriors Competition in Jordan.
Brigadier General IM Falana, Commander of the DHQ Special Forces Brigade, in his welcome address, highlighted the unique combat skills and tactics instilled in the graduates.
He thanked General Musa for his unwavering support of their training programs, which have helped strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity. Brigadier General Falana also affirmed the brigade’s loyalty to the CDS and Nigeria.
The ceremony marked the conclusion of an intensive 13-week training program that began in January 2024, with 124 graduates, including nine officers and 136 soldiers. Senior military officers from the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, also attended the event.
