Suspected Kidnapper Attempt Suicide at Point of Arrest in Taraba
Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has arrested five suspected kidnappers in Taraba State.
Parading the suspects before newsmen, the NSCDC State Commandant Mohammed Usman Waksha, disclosed that the suspects, Mohammed Gidado, Abdullahi Noma, Mohammed Dajo, Haru Abdull, and Shaibu Mikelle are all from Karim-Lamido Local Government Area (LGA).
He said stated the suspects were involved in various crimes; including kidnapping, armed robbery and cattle rustling.
According to the Commandant, at the point of his arrest on 20th March, Mohamed Gidado attempted to commit suicide by using a sharp object to cut through his throat but was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Jalingo where his life was saved.
While explaining that the four other suspects were arrested based on intelligence report on 6th April, the NSCDC Boss revealed that in the course of night patrol, his men intercepted syndicate and recovers a flat Screen Television, Curtain, Stabilizer, Woofer, leather carpet and a standing fan around roadblock axis.
Waksha assured that the NSCDC command is working in synergy with other sister agencies to ensure the security of lives and property of the people in the state and thanked the residents for supporting security agents to succeed.
