Suspected Kidnappers Apprehended by Nigerian Army

In a commendable operation facilitated by timely and actionable intelligence from the people of Edo State, troops of Headquarters 4 Brigade, operating under OPERATION WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and gun runner, Ekenaye Festus, along with four collaborators.

The arrest took place in the Agbor Road area of Iguomor Community in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, Edo State.

The suspects, including Isaac Oghosa, Ameh Innocent, Odion Okpako, and Ajayi Ayoola, were apprehended on the morning of February 25, 2024. They were allegedly involved in terrorising the Obagie Community and were suspected of engaging in kidnappings and other criminal activities in the state. The arrested individuals are currently in custody, cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Several items were recovered during the operation, including a Hilux Vehicle with registration number Lagos SMK 219 FX (equipped with ember light), a handheld radio, three torchlight phones, an android phone, a pair of desert boots, a pair of black boots, a fragmentation jacket, a jackknife pouch, and various charms.

Brigadier General Ebenezer Oduyebo, the Commander of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, commended the troops for their dedication to duty and appealed to the public for continued support to enhance the operational efficiency of the troops in fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities.
