Taraba Varsity Student Survives Alleged Suicide Attempt, Receives Medical Treatment
A female student of Taraba State University, identified as Precious, is reportedly receiving medical treatment after an alleged suicide attempt at a hostel located on the institution’s State Polytechnic campus.
According to separate accounts cited by Taraba Dailygraph, the incident was reportedly linked to the alleged leakage of private photographs involving the student.
The reports stated that Precious had allegedly sent the photographs to her boyfriend, after which they were reportedly circulated and eventually reached her father.
The development allegedly left the student severely distressed. She was reportedly seen on the upper floor of the three-storey hostel building in what appeared to be an attempt to jump from the building.
Her hostel mates reportedly intervened and pulled her away from the edge before she could carry out the act.
The reports further stated that, after she was later left alone, she allegedly ingested shampoo and subsequently began experiencing symptoms that required urgent medical attention.
She was immediately taken to a hospital, where she remains under medical care.
As of the time of filing the report, there was no independent confirmation of her death, while sources indicated that she remained alive and was receiving treatment.
