The President gave the assurance on Saturday during the inauguration of the Gateway Cargo International Airport in Iperu, a project executed by the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun. He also unveiled two aircraft for the newly established Gateway Airline.

“Our investment is about our people. The infrastructure underscores our faith in our country and the belief that today’s foundation is for tomorrow’s prosperity,” Tinubu said.

The President commended Governor Abiodun for his commitment to development, noting that the airport is powered independently, reflecting deliberate investments in the energy sector. He added that development must impact all sectors, highlighting strides in mobility, agriculture, and security.

As part of the visit, Tinubu also launched 1,000 electric bikes, security vehicles, and tractors to boost transportation, safety, and agricultural productivity in the state.

He praised Nigerians for their continued support for the All Progressives Congress, stating that ongoing reforms have increased resources available to sub-national governments and enabled more impactful development projects.

The President further lauded the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for initiatives aimed at improving ease of doing business and staff welfare. He also commissioned a Customs Hub comprising barracks, a training college, a warehouse, and a hospital.

In his remarks, Governor Abiodun described the visit as historic, attributing the state’s progress to the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and bold economic reforms, including foreign exchange unification and fuel subsidy removal, which he said have boosted investor confidence.

Also speaking, Senate President Godswill Akpabio commended Tinubu’s democratic credentials and called for further reforms in the power sector, including decentralisation of the Transmission Company of Nigeria.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo also lauded Tinubu’s leadership, noting the significant progress made in Ogun State over the years.

Several top government officials attended the event, including the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun; Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo; Minister of Communications, Bosun Tijani; and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, alongside governors from several states and traditional rulers.

The commissioning marks a significant milestone in Ogun State’s infrastructure expansion and Nigeria’s broader push toward economic growth and modernization.
