Tinubu Congratulates Adeleke on Osun Victory, Urges Unity, Development
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the state’s governorship election, describing the outcome as a reflection of the people’s choice and a positive development for Nigeria’s democracy.
The President, in a statement on Sunday, said he had personally called Governor Adeleke to congratulate him on his re-election and wished him success as he begins another four-year term in office.
“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him,” President Tinubu said.
He urged the governor to use his renewed mandate to unite the people of Osun State, regardless of their political affiliations or choices during the election.
“Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election,” the President said.
President Tinubu also commended the other candidates who contested the election, praising their courage and discipline and noting that their participation contributed to the deepening of Nigeria’s democratic culture.
He said the outcome of the election reflected the will of the people and demonstrated that democracy continues to gain strength in the country.
The President further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
He expressed confidence that the successful conduct of the Osun election would further strengthen public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic process.
