Tinubu Returns to Abuja After Six-Day Lagos Visit
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Lagos for Abuja this evening, October 5, 2026, bringing to an end his six-day visit to the former seat of government.
The President arrived in Lagos on Tuesday, September 29, following his annual vacation in London and Paris.
During his stay, President Tinubu addressed Nigerians on October 1 in a nationwide broadcast to mark the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
Later that day, he attended the National Premiere of MKO at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts. The documentary chronicles the life, political struggle and legacy of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola and the historic June 12 pro-democracy struggle.
On Sunday, the President also paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu, at the monarch’s Iga Iduganran Palace on Lagos Island.
Tinubu’s return to Abuja marks the conclusion of his six-day engagement in Lagos following his return to Nigeria from his annual vacation in Europe.
