Town Hall Meeting: NITDA DG Calls for Staff Collaboration to Build Agile Workforce

The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, has called for greater staff collaboration and participation in shaping the future of the agency.

Speaking at the inaugural NITDA Town Hall Meeting held in Abuja, the DG who was represented by Mr Oladejo Olawumi, emphasised the importance of fostering a vibrant organisational culture and nurturing an agile workforce to keep pace with Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.

He outlined NITDA’s dual mandate as both enablers of innovation and regulators of Nigeria’s tech ecosystem, stressing that the agency’s role in driving the nation’s digital economy is crucial.

“We create the conditions for businesses to thrive, for innovators to flourish, and for Nigeria to be recognized as a global tech hub,” he said.

The focus of the meeting, he noted, was the 8th pillar of NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0), which prioritises building an adaptable and resilient workforce capable of navigating the challenges of the digital age.

“This Town Hall is part of management’s strategy to actualise Pillar 8,” Abdullahi explained, adding that the platform would enable employees to voice their concerns, clarify roles, and collaborate on strategies to enhance NITDA’s effectiveness.

He urged staff to actively participate in the discussions and share insights that could improve the agency’s operations.

“We are building this organisation together, and we need every single one of you to be heard,” Abdullahi remarked.

The Director General concluded by expressing optimism that the meeting would serve as a platform for open dialogue and a renewed commitment to building a high-performing NITDA. He encouraged staff to seize the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the agency’s future direction.

The event marks the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at improving internal communication and aligning staff efforts with NITDA’s long-term objectives.
