Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have uncovered illegal arms manufacturing sites in Vom, located in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, leading to the arrest of five suspected Berom militia members allegedly linked to weapon fabrication and violent attacks across the state.

The operation was carried out by the military’s Quick Response Force (QRF) following weeks of intelligence gathering and covert surveillance operations.

According to security sources, the troops raided two illegal arms factories where the suspects were allegedly producing weapons used in violent attacks and covert killings in parts of Plateau State.

Items recovered during the operation include nine fabricated AK-47 rifle rifles, one locally made pistol, four empty magazines, seven skeleton AK-47 rifles, and 10 rifle butts.

Military authorities said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks, curb the proliferation of illegal firearms, and restore peace in troubled communities across Plateau State.

The suspects are currently in custody and are expected to face further investigation and possible prosecution.
