TY Buratai Literary Initiative Launches Book Placement Project in Three Schools

The TY Buratai Literary Initiative (TYBLI) is set to enhance literacy and access to quality books in underserved communities with the commissioning of its Book Placement Project in three schools across Abuja and Nasarawa State.
This is contained in a press release signed by the Secretary of TY Buratai Literary Initiative, Om’Oba Jerry Adesewo, and made available to our reporter on Friday.
According to the press release, the project will be launched at Army Day Secondary School, Mambilla Barracks on July 2nd, Al-Hikmah International Academy, Mararaba, Nasarawa State on July 4th, and IDP Sharing Prosperity School, New Kuchingoro, Abuja on July 9th.
The statement noted that this key programme of TYBLI aims to foster a culture of reading and support educational development across Nigeria, adding that each event will feature the installation of a mini-library stocked with a curated selection of books tailored to the needs and interests of the students.
Additionally, the events will include a brief reading and interactive session to spark students’ interest in reading and engaging with the new resources. A book management talk will also be provided, offering valuable guidance to teachers and students on how to effectively utilize and maintain their new library resources.
Lt. Gen. T.Y. Buratai (Rtd), founder of TYBLI, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are thrilled to bring the Book Placement Project to these schools in Abuja. By providing access to quality books and fostering a love for reading, we are investing in the future of our young people and contributing to the educational development of our communities.”
The commissioning events will be led by Dr. Lizi Ben-Iheanacho, Chairperson of the TY Buratai Literary Initiative, who will guide the team through the installation and engagement processes at the beneficiary schools.
The press statement reaffirms TYBLI’s commitment to expanding its reach and impact, with plans to extend the Book Placement Project to more schools across Nigeria in the coming year.
