TYBLI Announces Finalists for 2024 Young Adult Literature Prize

The TY Buratai Literary Initiative (TYBLI) has announced the finalists for the 2024 Young Adult Literature Prize, a competition designed to foster a culture of writing among Nigerian youth and showcase the creative talents of emerging writers.
Thia is contained in a press statement issued by the Initiative and made available to our correspondent on Saturday.
Selected from different regions of Nigeria, the finalists include “Truth and Dare” by Olatunbosun Taofeek (South West), “Portraiture of a Dreamer” by Hajarah Mohammed Bashar (North Central), and “The Northern Boy” by Daniel Singfuri Yohanna (North East).
According to the statement, these manuscripts were chosen by a panel of judges for their exceptional contributions to young adult literature in the country.
Each regional winner, previously announced in September, will receive N250,000 and a certificate of achievement. The overall winner of the Young Adult Literature Prize will be selected from among the finalists and will be awarded a grand prize of N1,000,000 at the award ceremony scheduled for late November 2024 in Abuja.
The ceremony will honour literary excellence, with all regional winners present to receive their awards and recognition for their creative efforts.
The statement added that TYBLI congratulates all finalists and looks forward to the announcement of the overall winner.
