Wole Soyinka @90: Arojah Royal Theatre, NCC, Korean Cultural Centre to join global celebrations with KONGI’S HARVEST 2024

Arojah Royal Theatre, the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), and the Korean Cultural Centre are set to join global celebrations with the 2024 edition of KONGI’s HARVEST as Professor Wole Soyinka marks his 90th birthday on July 13, 2024.
This is contained in a press release issued by Arojah Royal Theatre in collaboration with the Nigerian Copyright Commission and the Korean Cultural Centre.
According to the press release, Kongi’s Harvest, an annual event marking Wole Soyinka’s birthday was first hosted when he turned 77 in 2011.
The statement added that the 2024 edition which will take place on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the Korean Cultural Centre in Abuja, will be chaired by the Director-General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission, Dr. John Asein, and will have Lt. Gen. (Amb.) T.Y. Buratai, Former Chief of Army Staff as the Special Guest of Honour.
While Prof. AbdulRaheed Na’Allah, Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja, will be the keynote speaker at the event, other expected guests include Mr Charles Odili, DG, SMEDAN; Chief Obi Asika, DG, National Council for Arts & Culture; Hon. Aisha Augie, DG, CBAAC; H.E. Gill Lever, Deputy British High Commissioner; and H.E. Joao Soares Marcelo, Deputy Brazilian Ambassador.
