Woman Dies After Alleged Attack at Adamawa Hotel, Suspect Arrested
A woman has died following an alleged violent attack at No Vex Hotel in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The Adamawa State Police Command said the incident occurred on August 14, 2026, after officers received a report of an altercation at the hotel.
According to the Police, responding officers found the victim with severe injuries and lying in a pool of blood. She was immediately rushed to a medical facility, where she was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
The Police identified the suspect as Ali Haruna, 27, of Bolori Ward, Maiduguri, Borno State, who has since been arrested in connection with the incident.
Preliminary investigations, according to the Command, indicated that the suspect allegedly made statements taking responsibility for the attack. A knife suspected to have been used in the incident was also recovered and registered as an exhibit.
The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has taken over the case to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and determine the motive behind the alleged attack.
The Police urged members of the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
The Command assured the public that anyone found culpable after due investigation would face the full weight of the law.
