Yobe Governor Assures Full Support to New Sector Commander in Fight Against Insecurity

In a bid to strengthen the fight against insecurity in Yobe state, Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has assured the newly appointed Sector Commander of Sector 2 Northeast Joint Taskforce Operation Hadin Kai, Brig. Gen. MCE Ejike, of the unwavering support of both the government and the people of the state.
During a meeting held today to welcome the new sector commander, Governor Buni emphasized the collective effort required to combat insecurity effectively.
He stated, “We are collectively in the fight against insecurity together. I want to assure you of the cooperation of the state government, traditional, community, and opinion leaders, and the entire people of the state.”
Expressing satisfaction with the existing synergy among security agencies in the state, Governor Buni expressed hope that the new commander would further contribute to enhancing security across the state.
He commended the commander for his proactive measures aimed at keeping the military on the offensive against potential threats.
Governor Buni reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting all security agencies, particularly the military, in maintaining sustainable peace and security in Yobe state.
“This administration will continue to support all the security agencies and especially the military in the task of maintaining sustainable peace and security in the state,” he affirmed.
In response, the new Sector Commander, Brig. Gen. MCE Ejike, assured the governor of his readiness to tackle the challenges facing the state.
Drawing from his previous experience in Yobe state, he expressed confidence in his understanding of the terrain and its intricacies, which he believes will aid in executing his duties effectively.
“I am not a stranger in Yobe state; I know the terrain quite well because I have served here previously in various capacities, and this has efficiently prepared me for the assignment,” Brig. Gen. Ejike affirmed.
He called on both the government and local communities to extend their support to the military, emphasizing the importance of collective action in achieving success in their mandate of ensuring peace and security in the state.
