Yobe State Commences Strategic Grains Distribution: Gov. Buni Lauds Tinubu’s Support

Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support in bolstering the state government’s efforts through the distribution of grains palliative across the state.
Speaking at the launch ceremony of the federal government’s Strategic Grains Reserve Palliative program in Damaturu today, Governor Buni highlighted the inclusivity of the initiative, targeting vulnerable groups such as the elderly, People Living with Disabilities (PLWDs), orphans, widows, and others in need.
“The federal government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has stepped in admirably to support our state’s initiatives with 21,000 bags of assorted grains, including Maize, Millet, and Sorghum,” Governor Buni stated.
He emphasised the importance of such interventions, particularly in the current global economic climate, to provide relief and ease hardships faced by the citizens of Yobe state.
Governor Buni reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparent distribution, ensuring that the grains reach those who truly need them. He issued a stern warning to anyone attempting to divert or sell the palliative materials, vowing decisive action and legal consequences for such actions.
Governor Buni also announced the formation of a committee, comprising representatives from security agencies, tasked with monitoring and apprehending any individual or group involved in the diversion or unauthorized disposal of the grains.
The Governor unveiled plans for a forthcoming agricultural intervention aimed at empowering residents to actively engage in agricultural production for sustainable livelihoods.
He emphasised the government’s dedication to making agriculture in Yobe state attractive, productive, and profitable, fostering food sufficiency, security, and economic prosperity.
During the ceremony, Governor Buni distributed allocations to local government councils, schools, faith-based organizations, and other stakeholders, ensuring equitable access to the palliative resources.
