Zulum Assigns Portfolios to Nine Commissioners, Creates New Ministry in Borno
Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the posting and allocation of portfolios to nine newly sworn-in commissioners following their screening and confirmation by the Borno State House of Assembly.
The governor also approved the creation of a new Ministry of Planning and Economic Development as part of efforts to strengthen governance structures, accelerate post-conflict recovery, and promote economic growth in the state.
The newly assigned portfolios are as follows:
Hon. Satumari Abdulaziz Samaila – Ministry of Inter-Governmental Affairs and Special Duties
Hon. Babagana Malarima – Ministry of Religious Affairs
Hon. Maina Yaumi – Ministry of Planning and Economic Development
Engr. Tijjani Alkali Goni – Ministry of Water Resources
Arch. Isa Garba Haladu – Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement
Engr. Mohammed Habib – Ministry of Environment
Engr. Dr. Bawu Musami – Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources
Ibrahim Hala Hassan – Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism
Engr. Adam Bukar Bababe – Ministry of Works and Housing
Governor Zulum directed all commissioners to assume duties in their respective ministries with immediate effect.
He urged them to remain committed to public service and to intensify efforts toward the effective implementation of government policies and programmes as the administration approaches the final phase of its tenure.
Zulum also called on the commissioners to work closely with permanent secretaries, directors, and other civil servants to improve service delivery and ensure citizens continue to benefit from democratic governance.
