The humanitarian gesture will benefit over 6,000 people, including 1,605 internally displaced persons (IDPs). Each beneficiary received a bag of rice, a carton of spaghetti, and a gallon of cooking oil to support their families during the festive period.
The distribution exercise took place on Monday and forms part of Governor Zulum’s long-standing commitment to inclusive governance and social welfare. Since assuming office in 2019, the governor has consistently extended support to vulnerable groups, regardless of religious or ethnic background.
Speaking at the event, state officials described the initiative as a reflection of the administration’s dedication to promoting unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence in Borno State, especially during significant religious celebrations.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the governor for the timely intervention, noting that the support would ease economic pressures and enable families to celebrate Christmas with dignity.
