Mr John Damina the state secretary of the forum made the condemnation at a briefing on Wednesday in Bauchi, said we want to caution the youth against unguided statements on leaders.
“We want to caution the youth against engaging in a campaign of calumny, instead all the stakeholders are tasked to focus on issues and provision of dividends of democracy,” he said.
He noted that a particular interest group in the state is in the habit of sponsoring recycled false allegations against the Malam Adamu Adamu who is the Minister of education and Professor Sulaiman Bogoro the TEDFUND Boss all hale from the state.
Damina described as unwarranted media attacks funded by some selfish and misguided politicians sponsored in the State.
Mr Damina condemned what he described as “sponsored false stories in some national dailies with the intention of damaging the hard-earned reputation of Adamu Adamu and Professor Bogoro,”
“That such mischievous publications have become routine”, alleging that “the source of these publications are sponsors in the State.
“We have repeatedly stated that Malam Adamu, and Professor Bogoro have both brought significant development and achievements and we are very proud of the contributions to the state.
“We note with regret that such concoctions are meant to smear the persons of Adamu Adamu and Professor Bogoro, Like others before it, this is not going to stick because the sheep know their shepherd,” Damina said.
He said instead of allegations and accusations, what the state needs is unquantifiable service tailored to improving the welfare of the people from the two gentlemen.
The secretary, however, called on the sponsors of such image smearing of personalities to desist and allow development to strive.
