All is for the former coordinator of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Borno State, Alhaji Abba Aji Kalli to be honoured for peacebuilding.

Fondly called Elder, Mr Kalli will be honoured by the World Institute of Peace alongside the governor of Borno state, Professor Babagana Zulum and Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola the former governor of Osun.

Comrade Yusuf Mohammed of Somalia and Chief Afe Babalola together with eminent Nigerians are to be recognized at the World Peace Conference that is slated to hold at Osun State University, Main Campus Osogbo on March 14th.

In his response to the nomination of the former CJTF boss, Mr Samuel Lazarus stated that the award is well deserving.

He said: “It is most unfortunate that at a time the government and the people of Borno State need the leadership of Elder in the CJTF, the forces of corruption muzzled him out of the CJTF”.

Findings revealed that Mr Kalli voluntary resigned from the CJTF over some mix-ups with the top officials of the CJTF.

However, when contacted and asked about his status in the CJTF, Mr Kalli said: “I am a civil servant. I work in the Office of the Auditor-General.

He continued saying: “I decided to join the CJTF to protect my community and fight terrorists and insurgents in every way I can. I have contributed my quota and I felt it is time to bow out so I left”.
