PDP Crisis: I’m Still Angry With David Mark, Says Wike

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has opened up that he is still angry with the former Senate President, Senator David Mark for scuttling his chances of emerging as the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the May 28/29 convention in Abuja.

Speaking in a live media chat in Government House, Port Harcourt on Friday, Wike said it was wrong for Senator Mark who served as the chairman of the convention committee to have allowed the Sokoto state Governor and a co-contestant, Waziri Tambuwal at the convention to speak twice.

This is as the Rivers State Governor revealed that the national chairman of the PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu worked round the clock to ensure that he did not emerge as the presidential candidate of the party by mounting pressure on other aspirants to step down so that Wike does not win.

“The national chairman threatened that he would resign from his position if Governor Wike wins the presidential primaries”, he said.

Governor Wike also alleged that Iyorchia Ayu is very corrupt. ” Ayu collected N1billion from a certain PDP aspirant in Lagos State. I challenge the national chairman to deny this then I will open up on how the money was paid. The businessmen that contributed the money”, Wike said.
