Results collation for Abia governorship election resumes Wednesday
The Independent National Electoral Commission will on Wednesday resume tabulating the results of the governor of Abia State election (today).
Around 4 pm, the electoral umpire will resume the results collation that was put on hold.
The preparations to resume collating the governorship results were verified by Mrs. Rebecca Jim, head of Voter Education and Publicity.
She claimed that the presiding officer and state administrative secretary who had been summoned to INEC’s Abuja headquarters due to the dispute surrounding the Obingwa results, were now returning to Abia to finish the procedure.

It was gathered on Monday that INEC suspended further collation of governorship election results in some parts of Abia and Enugu states.
This followed the invasion of the INEC office in Obingwa Local Government Area in Abia by thugs on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
The thugs also held INEC officials hostage in relation to the collation of results from the Local Government Area.
However, the electoral umpire suspended the collation following allegations of infractions, especially over-voting in some areas.
