Three killed as thugs sabotage election, snatch BVAS in Benue

In the Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, at least three people who were thought to be political thugs have been killed.

OUNIGERIA learned that while voting was taking place, thugs broke into polling places 026 and 004 in Gboko South and tried to steal ballot boxes and the BVAS, or Bimodal Voters Accreditation System.

Moses Agure-Dam, an eyewitness who confirmed the news to OURNIGERIA over the phone, claimed that military officers shot and killed the thugs.

He said, “The thugs invaded the polling units and disrupted the election. They were three in number, one snatched the BVAS while others snatched ballot boxes but they didn’t not succeed.

“They were all shot dead instantly by the soldiers in the area”.

Efforts by OURNIGERIA to reach the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene proved abortive as her number was unreachable.
